Falling for fall.

Fall has to be my favorite time of the year and today has definitely proved that fall is officially here. The leaves are turning colors, the weather is starting to get a little chilly (time to pull out the boots, scarves and sweatpants), and the smells of pumpkin spice - well anything pumpkin spice for that matter.

Here's a few of my favorite things for this time of the year. It's been a great first week of fall!

All things burlap.

 Layering.

 The boys of fall.

 Aromas.

Food that warms the soul.

You're the cream to my coffee.

I've shared some of my favorites - what are yours?

What I wore: prints & cardis.

I must admit, I'm a huge fan of layering. What perfect time for layering than fall. If you have the right cardi and top, throw on a set of accessories and waa-la! I pulled this look together in approx. 5 minutes. It worked well for the office, and I came up with a simple, new look to add to my closet collection.

Black ankle pants: JCP
Red cardi: Target
Zebra print button-up: JCP
Black flats: ALDO
Gold multi-strand necklace: JCP
Gold boyfriend watch: Target

What I wore: pearls & black.

Happy Thursday!

I'm a BIG fan of pearls. I don't think there's a better color than black to wear with a stand of pearls. The pair looks sophisticated, well put-together and is a good match for the working girl. Your look is dependent on accessories, so pearls will always be a staple piece.

Here's how I paired up a couple of my closet favs today!

Black Dress: Target
Black Pumps: JCPenney
Gold Watch: Target
Pearl Necklace: Dillard's

Weekends like these.

Weekends like these remind me how much I love life and how grateful I am for what I have. This past weekend seemed to have lots going on which was definitely the case!

Starting with Thursday night, Lindsay and I made last-minute plans to go to the Luke Bryan concert at INTRUST Bank Arena. It was the first time I put on my boots all summer, so I was super happy! Florida Georgia Line and Thompson Square opened. Fantastic performers and a fabulous concert!

Friday evening consisted of a little road trip to the Kansas State Fair. I usually like to spend an entire day in Hutch but that didn't work out this year with my schedule. We had a great time and I'm pretty sure Alana wore us out! The weather was chilly but it was perfect for pony rides, fried fair food, face paintings, shopping, carnival rides, and ended the night with a ride on the Ferris Wheel!

Saturday was a long day. I worked a wedding with Jubilation Events at Botanica Gardens. I went to school with the couple, so it was so sweet to see them say I do and to be apart of their day - just a couple of the perks! Plus, I get the opportunity to put together lovely decor designs like these.

Sunday was a day of rest! Tony and I slept in, which never happens. I look forward to Sunday mornings for this reason and Tony and I make breakfast together. I have to admit, we watch the Roseanne marathons too!

A couple of hours were spent laying around, then it was time to celebrate a special guy's 4th birthday. The weather was perfect for Kai's Monsters Inc party at the park!

Sunday evening ended with a craft - burlap pumpkin (I'll blog about this later!), and the Miss America Pageant. I was cheering for Miss Kansas all the way - she's a true example of a real, Kansas woman.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I did - maybe yours was more relaxed than mine!

Lost in the right direction.

Sometimes all I need are simple words like these to tell me I'm doing something right. Life can be a crazy-hectic, unwinding roller coaster and usually we just need to take a deep breathe and let life run its course and lead the way.

I always have to be go-go-go, which can be good or bad. Sometimes I become lost in my own path where I question myself whether I'm making the right decision - on many things - but that's what life is about right? Live in the moment and never take it for granted.

Happy Tuesday!

My home away from home.

I visited my home away from home on Friday for the first football game of the season. Also known as the annual Bill Snyder Family Reunion. I spent 5 years in Manhattan, KS for school, so I always get a special feeling when I'm heading that way. I love the atmosphere especially on game days. Thousands of fans drive from surrounding states to come together to cheer on their favorite team.

The Cats may have lost their home opener to North Dakota State, but overall, it was a fantastic day tailgating with good friends and enjoying the game.

{The game, Stump!}
